I have come forth from the shadows to assure the denizens of the internet that I have survived the cowardly attempt on my life. I have been sheltered by a kind blog-ally who shall remain nameless. Nonetheless, during this time I have been secretly working to identify the mysterious assailant. Tommorow, I will name and unmask the cowardly culprit...

In my humble opinion, you should have said, "I KNOW your protective countermeasures ARE great..."
or you could have said, "I KNEW your protective countermeasures WERE great..."
